The Teasdale Research Group is a team of researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students that studies how evaluators define and examine the quality of educational, social, and health programs.
Evaluation findings inform real-world decisions about program design, implementation, and resources. Our research group investigates the criteria that guide evaluations of educational, social, and health programs and shapes evaluation findings. Criteria are central in evaluation because they represent values about what “quality” means for a specific program. Those criteria reflect the characteristics and results that matter most for the people involved and affected. Yet, criteria often remain implicit and unstated in evaluation practice. Our research makes definitions of quality explicit and supports evaluators in systematically identifying, negotiating, and applying quality criteria.
